The Ad Highlights How Trump’s Tariff Policy, Which Rep. Mackenzie Supports, Will Hurt Working Families in the Lehigh Valley

Allentown, PENNSYLVANIA - Today, Affordable Pennsylvania launched a new ad calling out Congressman Ryan Mackenzie for supporting the Trump administration’s harmful tariff policy that is raising costs on his constituents.

The ad, “Community”, features community leader Roy Ortiz, who runs the Lynfield Community Center, which provides fun educational and recreational activities, hot meals, and a safe place to stay for the neighborhood. In the spot, Roy calls out Rep. Mackenzie for supporting the extreme Trump tariffs, which are already starting to jack up costs on working people in the Lehigh Valley. Roy calls on Rep. Mackenzie to stand against rising costs and encourages fellow constituents to reach out to the Congressman to share their concerns.

“Our doors are open to everyone. Whoever needs help, we are here to provide it. Our center is a safe haven for our children and anyone in the community who needs us - we don’t want tariffs to be the reason we have to deny someone that help,” said Roy Ortiz, community leader and center operator. “We need our Congressman Ryan Mackenzie to stand up for the Lehigh Valley community down in Washington and fight back against these tariffs.”

“The Ortiz’s and their community center are a pillar of the Lehigh Valley. They provide a safe space for Lynfield’s children to learn, play, eat, and grow. The fact that their good work might be impeded by the Trump administration’s extreme tariffs is outrageous,”  said Rachele Fortier, executive director of Affordable Pennsylvania. “Congressman Mackenzie has defended these tariffs, despite the fact that they are already raising prices on his constituents. Rep. Mackenzie needs to stand up to Trump and these rising costs on behalf of Roy, the community he serves, and all those in PA-07 who are impacted by the tariffs.”

This is the fourth ad in Affordable Pennsylvania’s $4 million accountability campaign across radio, TV, digital and print media and the second in the Lehigh Valley. The other, “Afford,” launched in late July and similarly focused on rising costs due to Trump’s tariffs supported by Rep. Mackenzie.

We serve everyone. That’s why our doors are always open - because everyone is welcome.

Congressman Mackenzie is making things more difficult with these tariffs.

All he’s doing is making the price of groceries go up through the roof.

It’s going to hit us hard and we’re already feeling the repercussions of it.

Congressman Mackenzie - he’s out of touch. He’s hurting those who are in need.
