Pennsylvania U.S. Congressmen Mackenzie, Bresnahan, And Perry Voted To Ban All Challenges To Tariffs Until The End Of July
February 11, 2026
PENNSYLVANIA - Congressmen Ryan Mackenzie, Rob Bresnahan, and Scott Perry yesterday voted to ban all challenges related to tariffs until July, supporting Trump’s authoritarian overreach on a policy that is raising prices on working families, small businesses, and consumers across the Commonwealth and the nation.
Despite these tariffs bringing economic stress to their constituents, Congressmen Ryan Mackenzie, Rob Bresnahan, and Scott Perry have continually supported Trump’s tariff power, most recently voting last September on a rule to keep the president’s sweeping tariffs in place.
“As a small business owner whose industry has been hit hard by tariffs, the fact that my congressman voted yet again to let this extreme tariff policy continue is frustrating and disappointing. I hate having to consider raising my prices again, but in order to pay my employees well and stay afloat with these tariffs, there’s no other choice,” said Andrea G., owner of local coffee shop and roastery Elementary Coffee Co. “Congressman Perry has failed time and again to prevent rising costs for his constituents and tariffs are no exception. I need him to stand up to Trump and start fighting for his constituents, our businesses, and our livelihoods.”
Americans largely disapprove of Trump’s tariff policy, with 60% reporting their disapproval and 39% of them saying they strongly disapprove. Research from the nonpartisan Tax Foundation found that tariffs cost American households about $1,000 on average last year and that number is expected to rise in 2026. This study also highlights how tariffs raise prices and reduce available goods and services for both businesses and consumers, leading to lower incomes, reduced employment, and lower economic output.
Ahead of today’s tariff vote, Affordable Pennsylvania urges Reps. Mackenzie, Bresnahan, and Perry to vote to end tariffs on Canada.
