Reps. Ryan Mackenzie (PA-07), Rob Bresnahan (PA-08), and Scott Perry (PA-10) Have One Last Chance to Stand Up For Their Constituents and Vote Against the Bill

PENNSYLVANIA - As the House prepares to vote for a second time on the Republican Tax Scam, Pennsylvanians are urging Representatives Ryan Mackenzie (PA-07), Rob Bresnahan (PA-08), and Scott Perry (PA-10) to stand up for their benefits and vote against the bill.
The Congressmen all cast deciding votes to pass the bill through the House in May, despite hundreds of thousands of their own constituents relying on Medicaid and SNAP, which both face drastic cuts. The representatives, recognizing how this vote will hurt Pennsylvanians, have tried to save face with their constituents - Congressman Bresnahan has twice signed onto letters calling on his colleagues to “prioritize care for our nation’s most vulnerable” and claiming he “cannot and will not support a final reconciliation bill that includes any reduction in Medicaid coverage for vulnerable populations.” But actions speak louder than words and Bresnahan voted for the largest cuts to the program in American history just a month after the first letter and sent the second just following that vote.
“Congressmen Mackenzie, Bresnahan, and Perry have time and again prioritized the wallets of their billionaire backers over the wellbeing of the hundreds of thousands of Pennsylvanians they represent. This vote is a last chance for them to do right by their constituents,” said Rachele Fortier, executive director of Affordable Pennsylvania. “This bill will raise the cost of living and threaten critical assistance for hundreds of thousands of hardworking people across the Commonwealth. Supporting legislation that benefits the wealthiest at the expense of working families is a betrayal to their constituents - we urge these congressmen to vote against this bill.”
This bill would have devastating impacts across the Commonwealth, stripping food assistance from families and kicking 400,000 Pennsylvanians off of their healthcare. Governor Shapiro has warned that the future of these programs will be in peril if this legislation passes. Each Congressman represents more than 30,000 constituents who will lose their Medicaid coverage if this bill becomes law. The bill will also cost the Commonwealth thousands of jobs and millions in lost GDP and increased administrative costs - all to fund bigger tax breaks for the ultra-wealthy and big corporations.
