New data show PA Congressmen have hit record low for in-person town halls, each having held zero in 2026

PENNSYLVANIA — Affordable Pennsylvania is urging U.S. Reps. Rob Bresnahan (PA-08), Ryan Mackenzie (PA-07), and Scott Perry (PA-10) to schedule public, in-person town halls, saying Pennsylvanians deserve regular opportunities to ask questions, share concerns, and hear directly from the elected officials representing them in Washington.

Records show none of these members of Pennsylvania's congressional delegation has held an in-person town hall in 2026. Specifically:

• Rep. Ryan Mackenzie: No in-person town halls in 2026

• Rep. Rob Bresnahan: No in-person town halls in 2026

• Rep. Scott Perry: No in-person town halls in 2026. Last publicly reported in-person town hall was in 2019.

"As Scott Perry prepares to spend more time at home this summer, I hope he will do the right thing and meet face-to-face with his neighbors, the people he serves," said Carlos of Mechanicsburg, PA. "He promised to lower costs for people like me, but housing has become completely unaffordable, especially for returning citizens. When I reentered the community in 2019 and 2020, there were supportive services in place that helped me get stable, but today, the lack of affordable housing makes it nearly impossible for folks coming out of incarceration or substance abuse programs to transition successfully. If I were returning to society now instead of years ago, this affordability crisis would have made my success impossible. If he's serious about his promises, he needs to stop avoiding his constituents and tell us his plan to address these rising costs. Pennsylvanians deserve answers, not excuses."

Families across the Commonwealth are asking their elected representatives to throw them a lifeline as they face high costs for groceries, housing, health care and utility bills. Affordable Pennsylvania is encouraging Reps. Bresnahan, Mackenzie, and Perry to announce public town hall meetings during the upcoming district work period so constituents can show them how their votes have caused their costs to go up substantially this year.

While not meeting with their constituents, each Congressman’s votes to cut Medicaid and SNAP, their support for cost-raising tariffs and the Iran war, and allowing health care tax credits to expire, have increased their constituents’ costs substantially, causing an average household increase of $3,201 in each district from 2025 to 2026. For families on Pennie, their votes cost an increase of $3,201 in PA-07 and PA-08, and $6,226 in PA-10.

"Town halls are one of the most direct ways constituents can ask questions, raise concerns, and hear firsthand from the people they elected to represent them," said Rachele Fortier of Affordable Pennsylvania. "No matter where someone lives or which party they support, Pennsylvanians deserve opportunities for open, public conversations with their members of Congress—especially when families are working so hard to make ends meet."
