September 16, 2025
PENNSYLVANIA - Today, Congressmen Ryan Mackenzie, Rob Bresnahan, and Scott Perry voted on a rule to keep Trump’s tariffs in place. These extreme tariffs are raising costs for working families, small businesses, and American consumers. Last night, the Congressmen also voted to keep the 50% tariffs on Brazil, which will continue to raise the costs of coffee, beef, cocoa, sugar, and certain fruits and seafood.
“The U.S. cannot independently produce enough coffee to support the entire domestic coffee industry. Coffee is an industry that depends on stable, secure global trade. These tariffs are the antithesis of that,” said Andrea Grove, owner of local coffee shop and roastery Elementary Coffee Co. “These tariffs really impact small localized businesses like mine. I pay my employees well and I’m dedicated to giving back to my community. But we are already stretched thin by rising costs. I can’t pay these tariffs out of pocket. By voting to maintain these tariffs, Congressman Scott Perry supported raising costs on small businesses like mine. I need my Congressman to stand up to Trump and oppose these extreme tariffs.”
