PENNSYLVANIA – A new poll of Pennsylvanians in Lehigh Valley, Northeast PA and Southwest PA, found that Republicans and Democrats overwhelmingly agree on one thing: they want lower health care costs.  But instead of standing with their constituents, Reps. Ryan Mackenzie, Rob Bresnahan, and Scott Perry voted for the Republican Tax Law, which made the largest cuts in history to Medicaid and is making health care more expensive for Pennsylvania families. They also failed to save health care tax credits at the end of last year, causing Pennie health insurance premiums to skyrocket and over 177,000 Pennsylvanians to terminate their coverage.

The poll found broad bipartisan support for:

• Lowering prescription drug prices.

• Restoring health care tax credits to help families afford health insurance.

• Protecting and expanding Medicaid so more people can get the care they need.

"Health care shouldn’t be driven by politics. Everyone needs health care, and everyone wants to be able to afford their prescriptions and be able to take care of their health without breaking the bank," said Arona, a mother of two from Harrisburg. "Pennsylvania families were promised lower costs, but instead we're paying more for the medicines and care we depend on. Representative Perry should start listening to the people they represent."

The hits keep coming for Pennsylvania families. A federal judge recently declined to block a strict Medicaid rule that will force sick people back to work, creating new barriers that could cause eligible people to lose their coverage. At the same time, changes to Medicare Part D are expected to leave many seniors paying more for their prescription drugs as key financial assistance expires.Reps. Mackenzie, Bresnahan and Perry need to be lowering health care costs, and making it easier for Pennsylvanians to get the care and medications they need.
