PENNSYLVANIA – A new nationwide survey found that Americans overwhelmingly want elected officials to take immediate action to lower the cost of everyday essentials, underscoring a growing disconnect between what working families need and how their interests are being represented.

The survey found that 67% of Americans say the rising cost of living is placing significant pressure on their household, while 63% identify groceries as their top source of financial stress. More than eight in ten Americans (82%) believe politicians have the power to lower costs if they choose to prioritize it.

For Pennsylvania families, those concerns are more than statistics. Grocery prices remain among the fastest-rising household expenses, while families are also paying more for electricity, health care, and gas. Instead of delivering on promises to make life more affordable, Reps. Mackenzie, Bresnahan, and Perry have voted for the Republican Tax Law, which enacted the largest cuts to Medicaid and SNAP in history—threatening healthcare for approximately 310,000 Pennsylvanians and food assistance for thousands. They also voted for policies that have contributed to higher costs for working families, including supporting continued military action with Iran that has driven up fuel prices and voting six times over the last year to defend tariff policies that have increased costs across the economy.

"Working families don't need more excuses. We need relief. Every trip to the grocery store costs more than the last. Gas costs more. My utility bill costs more. It’s all adding up," said Arona, a resident of Harrisburg and mom of two. "We were promised lower prices, but instead Rep. Scott Perry voted for policies that are making life harder for families like mine. It's time for him to explain how they plan to lower costs instead of making them worse."
